Self Guided Tours

The museum is hard at work laying the foundations for a new setup at the museum.  As budgets and funding avenues tighten around our nation the Carnegie Historical Museum is building out a Self Guided Tour System.

While is our wish and desire that everyone can take a guided tour given by our amazing Director/Curator Jake Schmidt who's love for our local museum is simply unmatched.  We simply can not divide him into 5 different pieces!

The new self guided tours when launched will give those who decided to explore our museum on their own the ability to scan a QR Code on the exhibits and displays giving them expanded knowledge on what the objects are, their historical relevance and how they found their way to the museum.

"Building a new website was just the first step of the process as it will host the QR Codes and features that will go with this new service.  We hope to have at least 10 exhibits/displays up and running before officially launching the new service!" - Carnegie Board of Director Member Jason Strong

Inventory Dynamics

Director Jake Schmidt, Head of Research Charlette Wright and volunteer cataloger / fellow researcher Art McBreen have been cataloging, archiving and preserving artifacts within and under the displays as well as deep inside the bowls of the museum.

STORE

Come in and visit the museum store.  The store is loaded with duplicate items or items that have little to no historical stature for the museum as our physical space is limited.  Items's are currently marked half off during the holiday season.  All funds go to the Carnegie Museum Foundation.
